Description
High West High Country American Single Malt Whiskey is a limited-release, top-secret blend of 100% copper pot-distilled malt whiskeys. A tribute to the famed single malts of Scotland, yet a truly American single malt whiskey that embodies the pioneering spirit of the West, this craft whiskey is made completely from High West's own-make distillate. Produced high in the Wasatch mountains in Park City, Utah, this High West single malt whiskey is not chill filtered and is distilled on the grain for a robust, western character. With no added flavors or coloring, this naturally caramel-colored spirit is aged for a minimum of two years in new and used charred American white oak barrels before being finished in French oak port and oloroso sherry barrels, adding to its distinct character. This American whiskey offers aromas of baked apple, honey drizzled over fresh fig, lavender, graham crackers, overnight oat groats with peaches and cream, dried white daisies, cinnamon stick, and tobacco, along with flavors of vanilla-glazed banana bread, warm granola with dried fruit, and frangipane tart. Most notable are this High West Whiskey's bold notes of fresh apricots, toasted marshmallow, and roasted walnuts up front, followed by honeycomb, sourdough toast, and a hint of smoked lemon peel on the finish. The label of this limited-supply, 750 mL bottle of whiskey features the artwork of Ed Mell, a notable western painter and sculptor who specializes in capturing the beauty, vastness, and spirit of the landscape of the American West with a uniquely contemporary spin. Enjoy this barrel aged whiskey neat or with a few drops of water, or add it to your favorite whiskey cocktails.
